Dear Parishioners,
In this unprecedented time, I write to you to assure you of my
thoughts and prayers. When I pray a Priest’s Mass, I am remembering
you and keeping you in prayer. I know how difficult it has been for
all of us. One thing I think we all agree on, is how much we all miss
being at Mass together. Sometimes Mass can get so routine for us,
that we take it for granted.
As you probably already know, public mass is canceled until further notice along with any parish functions. We, like everyone else are taking it day to day and relying on what our government leaders and doctors tell us. Hopefully, we can soon be together to pray at Sunday Mass. I thank God for television and internet, so that we can see mass on several channels and different social outlets.
Confessions will be heard by appointments, please call the rectory if you would like to set one up. The food pantry is open and I am still visiting the sick and dying. If you are in need, please let us know and we will try to help as much as possible.
On another note, I’m sure everyone is feeling the pinch of the economy especially those who have their own business or rely on their retirement. Obviously, this increases our anxiety as we figure out how to pay our bills, etc…I understand the feeling. As pastor, I have to try to figure out how we can continue paying our parish bills without the steady income from our weekly collections. I ask you, if you can, to please continue with your weekly collections (or monthly) by either mailing them to us or dropping them off at the rectory. Whatever you can do to support the Church financially would truly be appreciated.
We will get through these tough times together. Keep praying for those who are sick from the Corona Virus, those who have died, health care workers, EMT’s, police, firefighters, those in the military, politicians, and each other. If you have any questions, please call the rectory.
Yours in Christ,
Father Tom
